After the critically acclaimed release of his three-part EP ‘Neowl’ (alongside Grooveshack) on Elif’s Marginalia label in December, Turkish-born German producer and vocalist Bákayan is now looking to grab 2024 by the horns as he lands on esteemed German label Stil vor Talent for his latest debut release, ‘Fireflies’.

A purveyor of a fascinatingly deep and directly dynamic sound, the sought-after Berlin-based artist has been honing his skills creating nostalgia-soaked material designed equally for the dance floor and for daydreaming in equal measure. This new offering delivers everything Bákayan stands for and is the perfect blend of contemplative escapology. The mystical-infused title cut, inspired by the sight of fireflies in the mountains of Turkey, and club-sensible attributes make his cuts the perfect companions for peak-hour spins and more intimate after-hours setups.

Presented in both original and edited versions (the latter featuring Ibiza-based artist Safar), and with Bákayan’s own vocals, ‘Breathe’ encapsulates the transporting flavors of spiritual journeys through the Bosphorus and big-room-focused allure to cheer any crowd into pure euphoria. ‘Fireflies’, on the other hand, operates more as a pop-tinged, break-filled weapon intended to propel raver crowds to emotional heights.

Commenting on his debut on Stil vor Talent, Bákayan remarked:
